1. Privacy Policy

1.1 Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as email address or sign-in identifier, letter metadata such as sender, receiver, unlock time, share code, status, quota usage, encrypted letter content, support messages, purchase status, and technical logs needed to secure and operate the service.

1.2 How We Use Information

We use information to create and deliver future letters, show countdown and unlock pages, authenticate users, manage quota and purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

1.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with hosting, storage, email delivery, analytics, security, payment, and infrastructure providers that help us operate OpenLater, or when disclosure is required by law.

1.4 Storage & Security

Letters are stored with technical safeguards appropriate for a time-capsule letter service. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we limit access, monitor abuse, and use reasonable organizational and technical protections.

1.5 Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may request access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, or account closure. Contact support from the email associated with your account so we can verify the request.

1.6 Children

OpenLater is not intended for children below the age required by local law. If we learn that prohibited child data was collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

2. Terms of Service

By accessing or using OpenLater, the website, shared letter pages, or related services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2.2 Account & Conduct

You are responsible for maintaining account security and for lawful use of the service. You must not attempt unauthorized access, abuse email delivery, disrupt operations, scrape private data, or use OpenLater for spam, harassment, fraud, or illegal content.

2.3 Content Responsibility

You are responsible for letters, images, recipient information, and other content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions required for that content and for the recipient contact information you provide.

2.4 Intellectual Property

OpenLater branding, software, design, and service materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You keep rights to your own letter content, but you grant us the limited rights needed to host, transmit, and display it as part of the service.

2.5 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, OpenLater is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for failures caused by networks, mailbox providers, user error, or third-party services.

2.6 Changes & Termination

We may update these terms, change features, suspend abusive accounts, or discontinue parts of the service. Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
